Woman Offended by Doc's Obesity Advice

You can't win. If he'd sugar-coated it, she'd have sued him for causing her diabetes...

I was really flabbergasted that a Medical Board would get involved with something like this. But I now understand that more was said - that the doc told the patient that "when" her husband died of heart disease and she was widowed, no men would be interested in someone so fat.

That's bad, but sometimes you just have to say shocking things to get someone's attention.

But when he continued that maybe a black man would consider her, since black men like larger women I have to agree he crossed a line. If this is true, some censure is appropriate.
